The go-to tool for user alerts is email.

There's an alternate channel we could consider - Telegram.  It looks to me that Telegram is more hackable/scriptable than email, and more secure.

There seems to be good language support for writing telegram bots and interaction interfaces.

Just putting it out there to encourage discussion and testing.  Next week I'll start using Telegram on my Android and Desktop.  If you're already a user let me know and we'll give it a try together.

Hi Andy,

I like the idea but I am not a user of Telegram and I prefer we prioritize email and do not force people to start using a new chat app to receive notifications.

Yeah - thank makes sense.  I agree.  Still going to explore Telegram as a background task, to learn more about it's capabilities.  Thanks for the feedback.
