I have been heavily at work making some significant design changes in
Buffalo Wiki that may soon need some review by others.
The first major change was to define a group of users under the name
Senior Editor and to allow them priveleges to edit major structural
parts of BufWIki, while protecting those pages from edits by others -
even if they are logged in. All of the Wiki Community pages fall under
this category. More work to do in this area for - so far Dave and I
are the only Senior Editors.
A second change was to create a separate tab set for logged in vs not
logged in and to make the left tab Home, vs Front Page. The Front Page
and Home are now made from Top and Bottom Includes with the top being
the same for not logged in, but the top for logged has stuff for
"active editors"
A third change is currently underway to create an automated and
controlled TAG system within the current facilities of WikiSPot.
A Fourth change is to redo some of the templates to put all the web-
related stuff in one section under "On the Web" and to create a
tagging system built in so that we get automated generation of all
pages with Website, Contact, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Blog, etc
connections.
See the
http://buffalo.wikispot.org/Facebook page for examples of
what is going on.
More later - lots to update, but getting a discussion started.
