Yeah man, I agree. I know they had a hackathon a few months ago and remember reading about "custom hardware", which usually makes me cringe.

AHh holy crap. Seriously. This should be an iPad app and they should sell a custom iPad stand. That's it.

I talked to the founder last night and asked this question. He had a good response in terms of form factor and needing to replicate the same size of regular sheet music for use with orchestras. The small size of the iPad doesn't work for that and is not what his target audience is looking for.
