Hey all - working on documenting the gives and asks manually until we develop a better capture method. Here's what we had to share this morning. Great seeing everyone!
Jer
from DRC who has been with Vive La Casa over a year, which helps migrant
families in Buffalo. 716 Ministry (who works with Vive) invited him here. They
provide legal service, accommodations, and means. Ask is donations, volunteers
for improving the building, and his offer is to connect companies with migrant
job-seekers.
Ray
Zielinski from the Olmsted Center for Sight. Their focus is improve lives of
visually impaired of all ages. Breaking
Employment Barriers is an hour long session where they explain how people with
visual impairment could do XYZ job for XYZ company. Hoping to talk about
software compatibility for visually impaired with anyone interested.
Mike
Castellani is a systems engineer on clean tech. Wants to talk to anyone in this
space. Offer to help in systems architecture work and share his expertise.
Philip
Glick is a pediatric surgeon and liaison between the UB MBA program and medical
school. No ask, just wanted to introduce himself to the community.
Art
Hall is a new project manager at the Northland campus where they’re creating an
incubator space. They are doing a business network series on there on 7/25 from
6-8pm. The address is 683 Northland. His give is connecting to resources on the
east side of Buffalo.
Harshita
Girase is a recent UB grad and software engineer at Torch also working with
Buffalo water board. Her give is that she can connect to the student community
at UB and can personally give you her time for things like design critique. If
you have user research or human centered design help needed, she’d love to
talk. She’s an organizer for startup week as well.
Gentleman
who works in business development at UB (didn't catch your name if someone
could reply with that). Specifically focuses in health and life sciences. Give is
potentially funding in life sciences, and finding interns from UB.
Justin
Callaghan is a UX designer at M&T. Give is design, business innovation, and
marketing workshops. Ask is for people to sit down with mom and pop shops that
need help.
