Hi everyone,
Here is a long overdue update for you!
I was in Amsterdam last week demoing to heads of mission and medical coordinators for many of the countries MSF works with - needless to say they are really excited about the possibilities of what we are building here.
Development has been progressing really well and we're in the final stages of confirming a field visit to go and test out what we've been building in Africa within the next few weeks!!
I'm also pleased to announce that our team is growing! We're very happy to have joining us - initially for a 1-month trial period:
Rodrigo Gidra (based near Sao Paulo, Brasil) who has a strong experience leading technical teams including for a hospital triage system, and broad technical expertise including Java and Android.
Vinicius Boson Kairala (based in Sao Paulo, Brasil) with over 14 years Java experience and lots of other languages too and he's actively involved in other social projects.
Jose Taragona (based in Sao Paulo, Brasil) - a lead technical architect who has some experience already with MSF and has been lead tech architect for a medical company.
Marco Aurelio Carvalho Filho (based in NY, USA) with very strong Android and Java experience including building apps for MDs and Nutritionists, also did 3 years engineering school building solar powered water treatment hardware.
Leonardo Lima de Vasconcellos (based in Florianópolis, Brasil) who is a full-stack inc. Java and Android developer, also with some experience with embedded Linux (installing it on a Galaxy Tab!)
One of the things Rodrigo, Jose and Marco are going to be working on is engaging with the wider development community and getting volunteers started with contributing to the codebase.
We have a large roadmap and plenty of work to do in helping clinicians look after children in nutrition programmes, and beyond!
So expect to hear from them in the next few weeks about how you can start contributing to the project.
Thank you all for your patience and ongoing desire to contribute to what we're building here; we're very nearly ready for you!
- Dan and the now much bigger Buendia team
