International Day of Peace 2013

Please join us to celebrate the International Day of Peace at the United Nations Church Center Chapel (777 UN Plaza; E. 44th St. at First Ave.), Wednesday, September 18, 4:30-6:00p.m. The Sound of Peace is a sunset celebration of the United Nations International Day of Peace. A welcoming introduction from Ambassador Anwarul K. Chowdhury will be followed by musical prayers offered by spiritual leaders, and a poetry reading. The celebration will conclude with the universal sound of silence. Sponsors of The Sound of Peace include the United Religions Initiative at the United Nations, the Committee of Religious NGOs, the Committee of Spirituality, Values, and Global Concerns, Global Family for Love and Peace, World Peace Prayer Society, the Buddhist Council of New York, and Lalitamba Magazine. The Sound of Peace is part of the Week of Global Interreligious Dialogue and the 11 Days of Global Unity.
