Dear Friends,

I am hoping you can join the members and friends of NYBC at a very special concert this upcoming Sunday April 2, at 2:00 pm

We are delighted and honored to be hosting a concert by Kaoru Watanabe (former Artistic Director of KODO, the iconic Japanese taiko group, and has collaborated with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, created music for Martin Scorsese, etc). Master shinobue maker Ranjo has called Watanabe’s sound on the fue the “greatest in the world”.  Here’s a taste of what’s to come:   http://www.watanabekaoru.com/media/

Yasushi Nakamura has collaborated with artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Wycliffe Gordon, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Hank Jones, Dave Douglas, Steve Miller, etc. With his charismatic stage presence and artful, hard swinging melodic touch, Nakamura is a first-call performer capturing new audiences and fans around the world.

We are located on RIverside Drive between 105-106th Street (easily accessible by public transportation). Take #1 train to 103 St and walk to 105 St, go left for two blocks and take a right on Riverside Drive.

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Best,

Isabelle Bernard
