Hi Everyone,

We just arrived in Budapest (on Tuesday), and I think my two-year old
daughter is getting her back molars. With the rough night of sleep
last night, I realized that I threw out our entire medicine draw
before shipping our belongings (not so smart on my part)!

Sometimes I give my daughter children's / infant's ibuprofen at night,
if the teething is bad. I am going to find a pharmacy nearby today.
I have no idea if these things are the same here or even sold over-the-
counter. Please excuse my ignorance! In case of any sort of language
barrier at the pharmacist, can you tell me the equivalent of what I
should be looking for in Hungarian?

1. Children's Ibuprofen
2. Any natural remedy for teething pain
2. Neosporin (antiseptic for cuts and burns)
3. Hydrogen Peroxide and Rubbing Alcohol
4. Vicks Vapor Rub (for colds, low strength for babies)

Thank you for any assistance you can provide!

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

Children's ibuprofen is Nurofen and children's tylenol is Panadol. Both come in syrup form.

Not sure about the others on your list!

Oh, natural remedy for teething is Dentinox gel, it comes in two formulations, with and without lidocaine. Which would make it not so natural, but quite effective! :)

Hi Jen,
There are also some homeopathic medicines available from pharmacies in Hungary for teething, for example,  Chamomilla. It did not help us but some of my friends swear it helped there babies.

Also, "Baby Luuf balzsam" is much like Vicks Vapor Rub, that is the one the pharmacy near us has.

Hello everyone

I'm returning to Budapest today with my 9 month old who has just discovered the wonders of crawling!!!!

Does anybody have one to sell or any advise where I can buy a 'station' of some sort. We have a 'dj station' in London. It's a big round plastic thing with a seat in the middle and heaps of things do to all the way around the seat. It literally means I can pop her in it for 20mins whilst I make dinner and can take my eyes off her without fear!!

Be great to get a 2nd hand one but if not a shop recommendation would be great.

See u all on weds with my new crawler!

Thanks amie

HI Amie,

We have one that was lended to us but we don't use it anymore. I'll ask if I can lend it to you.

Otherwise, check our Mom2Mom Facebook group, where there are more than 700 moms posting second hand baby clothes, toys and other accesories. You can find topic picture folders and can also ask on the wall if anyone has such a station.

I'll get back to you soon!

Hi Amie,

If you don't find a used one you can buy exersaucers at Brendon.  http://www.brendon.hu/Products/ViewDetails/32990?storetype=store&store=32

We also have one, presently with my friend, but they don't use it any more. It can be picked up in the 15th district. Zoltan
