Greetings Hashers of all shapes and sizes,

The Annual Balatonalmadi hash will be on Saturday 26th July.

The train leaves from Kelenfold at 10:01, arriving in Almadi at 11:44 (if you believe the MAV timetable!). This gives plenty of time for a beer before taking a local-bus at 12:29 for a 12 min ride to the start of the Hash.
The next train arrives theoretically at 12:22, but is usually 5-10 mins late, so you would be unlikely to get to the bus in time! (there is no later bus that day!)
The Trail is currently estimated at about 7.5 km, with no very steep parts. I may be able to fix a wine stop at one of the vineyards if there is an interest (???). A beer stop may be possible (depending on summer opening times), finishing in the garden of Paprika Smiley for circle, ice to sit on, beer, food and songs.
Trains return to Budapest, the late ones are at about 21:30, 22:30 & 00:10.
Or there are Airbnbs etc locally.

NOTE: Most BPH3 going to Almadi seem to be walkers - I am happy to also set a running route if I know there will be at least one runner - but I need to know well in advance :-)

UPDATE:

Greetings Hashers of all shapes and sizes,

The Annual Balatonalmadi hash will be on Saturday 26th July.

The train leaves from Kelenfold at 10:01, arriving in Almadi at 11:44 (if you believe the MAV timetable!). This gives plenty of time for a beer before taking a local-bus at 12:35 for a 12 min ride to the start of the Hash.

WARNING: This train requires seat booking - so geriatrics like me pay an extra 1500 Ft once already on train without it.

The next train arrives theoretically at 12:22, but is usually 5-10 mins late, so you would be unlikely to get to the bus in time! (the next bus that day leave 2 hours later!)

The Trail is currently estimated at about 7.5 km, with no very steep parts, but the first ~km is a continual climb slowly upwards. I may be able to fix a wine stop at one of the vineyards if there is an interest (not organised, but if you want it please let me know asap). A beer stop may be possible for the faster members (slow walkers will probably not get there before closing) - trail finishes in the garden of Paprika Smiley for circle, ice to sit on, beer, food and songs.

Trains return to Budapest, the late ones are at about 21:21 (faster train), 21:29, 22:28 & 00:09.

Or there are Airbnbs etc locally.

NOTE: Most BPH3 going to Almadi seem to be walkers - I am happy to also set a running route if I know there will be at least one runner - but I need to know well in advance :-) [As far as I know, there are no runners].

Bring your mankini if you want to swim in the lake.
