Before i share what i have understood, would like to point out that the link i had mentioned in my question - Laptop graphics update...How to - this is a very old guide. I had posted another question just regarding non-working of the link.
This was a clean install, not an upgrade per say. Windows update would install some updates and AMD drivers and this driver update would not work, the issue I faced is screen going blank at login screen.
Windows update option of excluding Drivers (through registry / Group policy) in the update process did not work, AMD drivers would get downloaded and installed. Also Synaptics driver (touch pad) would get downloaded and installed which i felt was causing some issue as well. System restore was the only way out to the system to desktop without the drivers. Windows would install Generic windows Display adapter.
I performed a clean install, let windows do download and install the updates which included AMD and Synaptics driver. Before Reboot I went to Device Manager and performed a Rollback of drivers, uninstalled AMD and Synaptics from Control panel and let the system reboot.

I have tried the normal avenues but I am hitting a dead-end with regards to the Sony site, which is probably one of the worst I have seen with regards to navigation. 32 bit drivers are available but not 64 bit
pcidatabase.com - use the Vendor ID and Device ID to find the driver you need. This site has been about 95% effective for me for finding missing drivers Especially since my company buys windows 8 machines and downgrades to windows 7.
Sony Europe's Image Sensing Solutions Division has announced the officiallaunch of a full software development kit (SDK) for its Linux-based XCI-SX1smart camera, and simultaneously unveiled plans to support Microsoft Windows XPeon the same hardware platform. The XCI-SX1 integrates an image sensor and framegrabber with an integrated x86-compatible AMD Geode™ processor whichruns the operating system and performs image pre-processing and camera control(Plate 2).
Developers using the Linux product now have access to a fully-tested editor, debugger and compiler, supported by comprehensive programming and referenceguides. The SDK, which also includes a full set of drivers, libraries and samplesource code, can be used to develop on several Linux x86 systems (such as RedHat7.3). Registered users will be able to download it for free from the Sonywebsite (www.sonybiz.net/vision).
The addition of further Compact Flash storage capacity will allow Windows Xpeand Linux users to develop their own applications direct on the camera. Thecamera hardware includes a direct PC monitor output, USB connector, 10Base-T/100Base-TX interface, external trigger facilities and electronic shutter, allowing the device to be configured for any end- user application, but also fornative development and testing.
Key to Sony's commitment to support users of the XCI-SX1 smart camera rangeis the announcement of the first three smart camera software compatibledeveloper partners for the newly introduced Sony Vision Network: MVTec withHalcon Library, Euresys with e-Vision and FDS with Imaging Software.
The Sony Vision Network is a partnership programme intended to deliver provencombinations of Sony hardware and third-party software backed with expertconsultancy, advice and supply chain support. The network will help achieve fastand simple application- and system-building by identifying assured sources ofhardware and software compatible with Sony's products, and providing expertise, experience and advice on integration and sector-specific issues.
Smart cameras such as the XCI-SX1 are currently seeing the highest growthrates within the machine vision market. Unlike conventional machine visioncameras, images captured by the XCI- SX1 are processed within the camera, whichalso has its own CPU for control tasks. This confers several advantages incertain kinds of machine vision system: it relieves the processing burden on thecentral CPU; it cuts the amount of data that needs to be moved around thesystem; and the integrated nature of the camera/processor combination simplifiescamera control tasks. It allows fast and cost-effective development andimplementation of a range of machine vision applications, without changing thehardware infrastructure.
