Q: What can I do about other’s incessant talking during davening?
A: Increase the noise level of your own davening. Seriously, is not
everything G-d? Talking of any kind is davening. Some davening is
more elevated than others. The problem is that the speaker doesn’t
realize this, and so he/she talks nonsense, not knowing that G-d lets
us attain the focus of our contemplations. You can bring the speaker
of nonsense into your fold by increasing the intensity level of your
own davening. Either the one talking will join in with you, or being
so distracted from speaking his own nonsense, he will leave.
