My older computer running audition 3 crashed. I have re-installed Adobr Audition 3 from install disk onto new computer (Windows 10). It is running fine as before on old compter (for 13 years). But the "activation number" (28 digits) underneath the serial number during activation is longer than the requested "activation code" (which has five boxes for a total of 20 digits).

How do I either get an activation "code" for my paid Audition 3 -- or otherwise how do I turn off that activation mess so that my Audition 3 will not shut down on me after the new 30 day's of "trial" that Adobe has thrown my paid software into. ???

There are any number of threads about this on the forum, as a search would reveal. All the information you need (and you won't like it) is typically in this one. Complaining about the situation will, I'm afraid, get you nowhere.

I have a paid installation of Audition 3 -- with which I have been VERY HAPPY -- and do not wish to switch or upgrade it -- but my serial number for it will only install it on a new computer for 30 days because of Adobe's claim of having to shutdown its "aging activation servers." It was running fine on other computer until hard drive crashed.

To get my paid Audition 3 working again, I AM WILLING TO PAY a reasonable price one time to someone who knows and can share with me a source for securing the unlocked version of Audition 3, along with the universal unlock code. slg (at) cogtv (dot) org. I will be very grateful to anyone who can and will help with this -- and not coming back with the sad old song of how Adobe will not help you to get your purchased software rinning on a new machine after old machine crashes.

Will you please not reply unless you know and will share with me where to find a copy of the unlocked version of Audition 3, along with the universal unlock code. Adobe lady Ekta from India told me it's available and told me to post a request here for it and to expect a postive response within a few days -- and I'm hoping she's right about that -- with herself either not able or not knowing where to find it.

My guess is that the header for the file isn't in the same place as the header made on a PC. I cannot believe that Adobe hasn't come up with a patch for this. Anyway my solution is that I have a small free program installed called "Format Factory." Just use it and format the mp3 again as an mp3 and it will then load into Audition.

Hello. I am new to Adobe and don't understand the technical language, so I will write this simple. I have attempted to do each thing that is suggested here (except download quicktime, as, shouldnt Audition work without the need of additional downloads? I mean, its subscription based so extra downlaods would seem pretty ridiculous, personally.) I have attempted to change the mp3 file to a .wav file, through Media Encoder. I cannot do this, as a seperate error then pops up. But none of these error messages actually tell me what is wrong. I have also tried a seperate mp3 file. Is adobe audition just not able to read mp3 files? Thank you for your response.

If on a Mac - just click on the file in your finder and hit Enter so you can rename it (or right click and select Rename). Then just delete "mp3" and change it to wav - then click "keep .wav" when the next message pops up and it's changed.

A month ago, I received an error code 205 when trying to open adobe Audition on my M1 MacOS. Only one of the production computers I use it on has this problem. On all systems all other Adobe Apps work without a problem. I saw one thread which suggested a fix via a Microsoft .exe file update. So, not applicable here.

I have been receiving Adobe pro invoices for some time now (No VAT), I have always put these on as Exempt. After further inspection of these invoices I can see that It states 'Note: if no tax is charged and your tax identification number is displayed, then this is either an exempt or reverse charge transaction'. Also another note saying 'Reverse charge supply-customer to self assess' It includes both the business vat number GB and Adobe VAT number IE.

Upon reading this I believe maybe I am incorrect to put this as exempt and it should be reverse charge, could someone please confirm this is the case, if so how does one account for reverse charge VAT (Not something I have ever had to do).

If your business is fully taxable (you can reclaim all your input tax) then its not a major crime, don't go back and amend anything but use the right code for reverse charge transactions in your accounting software so that you are doing it the right way, HMRC unlikely to have an issue as no VAT loss, just a matter of putting things in right place.

Adobe are akin to Schrdinger's cat.
they might be reverse charge they might be standard rated and they might be exempt - its not until you "open the box" I.e look at the vat invoices that you will know what the treatment is.

In summary Adobe have UK presence and non uk presence and you need to find out which one is billing. Furthermore if its non uk presence you should not presume that reverse charge will have been applied by adobe - something else is posisble.

Yes - reverse charge for this particular invoice almost certainly - unless the supply itself would be exempt or zero rated if supplied in the uk !!!! - if supply would be zero rated or exempt there is nothing vat wise to reverse charge !!

Its the same for all such companies - Amazon, Godaddy, Microsoft etc, you just don't know how the VAT has been handled unless you open every invoice. It makes it impossible to set rules for your accounting software.

Does this one line of text now make the invoice exempt rather than subject to Reverse VAT? I only have a basic understanding of the EC Directive so it's trying to determine exactly what that section of the directive means in reference to the supply of services from Adobe.
