Saying Bye

[Lazey Winde]

Fawne timidly followed Liadan keeping to the shadows as much as she could. Liadan held Yehudit on her hip as she pushed open the door to the healers' cottage.

"Aron? Are you there?"

[Muffin Puffin]

Aron was sitting on the sofa looking shocked. Lia's voice barely reached him. He turned slowly and nodded. "Yes, I'm here, Cupcake."

[Lazey Winde]

Liadan sat on the couch next to Aron and slipped her free arm around him.

"Aron?"

[Muffin Puffin]

"I've never seen....no one knows what to do...Ertzel went to Brother Osbert..." Aron stammered, his arm slipping around Lia.

[Lazey Winde]

Liadan was worried.

"Aron, what happened?'

[Muffin Puffin]

"Brie. She's here. But she's not here. Difyr said she's been glowing and murmuring in a language she doesn't understand. And...when I went in to see her....wings....glowing wings....formed beneath her."

[Ayshe]

Now Liadan was worried for Aron's health as well.

"Maybe I should see Brie..."

[Ayshe]

Liadan squeezed Aron's hand.

"What room is Brie in?"

[Muffin Puffin]

Aron looked up. "The first one on the left."

[Lazey Winde]

Liadan held Yehudit out to Aron. "Want to hold her?"

[Muffin Puffin]

Aron nodded and took Yehudit, cuddling her in his arm. "I'm going to miss you little one.You and your mom." He bent down and kissed her tiny nose.

[Lazey Winde]

Yehudit reached up and latched onto Aron's nose.

"I'll be back." Liadan said softly. She went to the door Aron mentioned, knocked lightly and then opened it.

[Muffin Puffin]

Aron tickled Yehudit's tummy.

[Lazey Winde]

Yehudit giggled and twisted Aron's nose.

"Brighid?" Liadan called softly.

[Muffin Puffin]

Aron scooped up Yehudit and kissed her, then held her closely.


The bed was empty.

[Lazey Winde]

Liadan sighed and went back to Aron.

"Brighid isn't there." She said, looking at Aron with soft eyes.

[Muffin Puffin]

Aron blinked. "What? She couldn't have...she was unconscious!" He moved Yehudit to his right arm, laying her over his shoulder. Aron reached out with his other to hold Lia close.

[Lazey Winde]

Liadan wrapped her arms around him. "Did Difyr see? Maybe she saw where Brighid went."

[Muffin Puffin]

"If she did, she didn't mention it to me. That doesn't mean she didn't though," Aron said, resting his chin on her head.

[Lazey Winde]

Liadan pressed her ear against Aron's chest. "I'll go ask her."

Yehudit played with Aron's hair.

[Muffin Puffin]

Aron nodded, then reached up to tickle Yehudit again.

[Lazey Winde]

"I'll go find her." Liadan said and slipped out of Aron's arms and up the stairs.. Liadan found the young healer in her room with her nose in  book. Difyr looked stressed and deep in concentration. Liadan spoke up anyways.

"Where's Brie?" Liadan asked.

Difyr shook her head. "I don't know, she flew out the window and where she went after that I don't know."

"So it's true." Liadan said. "I was afraid Aron was going crazy."

"No, Aron's sane. I just don't know what's going on." Difyr said.

[Ayshe]

Liadan returned to Aron's side. "Difyr says she flew out the window.
She doesn't know where Brie went."

[Muffin Puffin]

Aron looked up from playing with Yehudit. "You seem terribly calm for someone who just heard one of their best friends flew out of a window."

[Lazey Winde]

"It's not the first time Brie has gone out a window." Ladan said wearily. "I think it all just has me exhausted. So much has happened I don't even know what's happening now."
