Though Aislyn slept, Yehudit awoke and was wide awake in seconds. Her tiny hands tangled in Aislyn's curls.

"Ah! Ah! Ah! Adrrrr. AAAAAAAAH!" Yehudit shrieked with delight.

Yehudit's face glowed with a smile.

"Abd, abdar." She babbled seriously, getting another handful of Aislyn's hair. "Aghar."

 Aislyn laughed even as she muttered "Ow, ow, ow" beneath her breath. she dropped her hand from her hair and began to tickle the baby's stomach.

Yehudit giggled and happily flailed her chubby arms and legs.

Aislyn's hair fell free of the tiny little fingers and she cuddled Yehudit while continuing the tickling of her tummy.

Yehudit let out another happy whoop, then purposely rolled for the edge of the sofa.

Aislyn caught the little escape artist and placed her toward the back of the sofa.

Yehudit's face crumpled up, her lower lip jutted out, her skin turned white under her eyebrows.

"Waaah!" Yehudit wailed.

"Oh don't cry, little one," Aislyn fussed. She scooped up Yehudit then sat on the floor with her. Keeping a close eye on Yehudit, Aislyn sat her on the floor.

Yehudit stopped crying and scratched at the pattern of the rug with her fingers. She flopped over until she was nearly laying across her own legs but was too interested in the carpet to care.

Aislyn smiled while she watched her. She realized Yehudit liked bright colors in complex patterns.

"Ah ah." Yehudit slapped the pattern, then scratched it some more.

[Muffin Puffin]

Aislyn inched over to sit next to her. "All of those colors are pretty, aren't they?"

[Lazey Winde]

"Ahwahr." Yehudit said, then smacked the carpet excitedly, "Dah! Dah! Dah!"

[Muffin Puffin]

"What is it that you see, little one?" Aislyn asked quietly.

[Lazey Winde]

Yehudit found a hairy piece of lint. She stared at it in fascination, gingrly clawing it out of the carpet.

"Ahwdwahr?" She said, then popped the lint into her mouth.

[Muffin Puffin]

"ACK!" Aislyn cried out, making funny motions with her fingers to distract the baby while she retrieved the lint.

Yehudit stared at her silly Aunt Aislyn, her mouth curving into a bow of a smile.

After Aislyn removed the lint, she bent down and kissed Yehudit on the nose.

Yehudit burst into tears and began howling.

"Oh my goodness, little one!" Aislyn scooped Yehudit into her arms and rocked her.

[Lazey Winde]

Yehudit whimpered and sucked on the shoulder of Aislyn's blouse.

[Muffin Puffin]

"Maybe you are hungry, little one." Aislyn rested Yehudit on her shoulder and headed into the kitchen to warm some milk.

[Lazey Winde]

Yehudit howled as if it were the end of the world.

[Muffin Puffin]

"Gracious," Aislyn said as she put the milk on to heat. She bounced Yehudit ever so slightly.

[Lazey Winde]

Nelek hovered nearby. "Is something wrong?" He asked anxiously.

[Muffin Puffin]

"I don't know," Aislyn admitted. "I'm hoping she is just hungry. She was laughing and playing with the rug and then she tried to eat a piece of lint. I got it away from her but then she started crying for no reason."

[Lazey Winde]

"Well, she is Liadan's daughter." Nelek said, hoping that their own children would be calmer.

[Muffin Puffin]

"That's true also. Explains so many things," Aislyn grinned. "So I thought I would try letting her suck warm milk off of my fingers."

[Lazey Winde]

"Maybe she'd be happier lapping it off the rug." Nelek said.

[Muffin Puffin]

Aislyn snickered. "She did seem to have a fondness for the rug."

[Lazey Winde]

"Hopefully Liadan will be back soon." Nelek said.

[Muffin Puffin]

"Yehudit may be missing her."

[Lazey Winde]

Nelek nodded.
