Was really pleased to see this hand-me-down organised - I had already started packing for it and I know a few others have been itching for one :) I think having one per "season" works well for babies 18 months and under (older toddlers stay in sizes for longer, but would still require two-three swaps a year to reflect the changing weather).

** If you have any larger/more valuable items that you would like to sell eg. buggies, slings, high chairs etc. You can sell them on the day and offer 15% of what you get as a donation to BubHub

I do have a few bulky items to shift along (door bouncer, bumbo seat, ride-on toy and a changing table) and I wouldn't mind the group getting all sale money - but I have no way of bringing them along, and certainly wouldn't consider it if nobody cares to buy them. Was thinking of printing a picture of each on a sheet and post it up to encourage offers, then I could arrange pick-up/exchange with anybody interested (may do so if I manage to locate my battery charger). Could this be a fund-raising strategy that would work outside of hand-me-down meetings?

So I'm all packed and ready to go - but so was I last Thursday and never managed to make it... Peter repeatedly, specifically requested that we don't go because - he said - he didn't want the babies to pull his hair! *sigh* I'm sure this is his way of saying "I'm tired of being told to tone it down", and I didn't have the heart to pack him up and carry on regardless. I have been trying my best to ignore the sings of this, but my family's fast approaching the end of an era - I've been having similar (or worse, if I'm honest!) problems at St. Peter's toddler group, where we've spent Friday afternoons for the last three years. I've already started preparing him to go this week for the fundraiser, but if I don't show up you'll know why!

ps. Lucy I also had the sleepsuits ready to pass on last week, I'm sorry I didn't make it. Will bring them along at the hand-me-down, they're packed separately so I'll keep them for you as promised.

hi E
I'd be happy to buy your ride on toy...i'm very close to buying one new from argos...so it's be much better to get it second hand..i can come collect it

I find it difficult to get out and about cos i really don't like to rush  louis if he's engrossed so i can see how heart wrenching it must be if little peter is actually saying he doesn't want to come...I just wonder if there is some way that we could make it more of a welcome offer.....different toys /activities /responsibilities? Although you did say that he doesn't like going to the friday afternoon club either....what sort of things does he really like doing at the moment?
i'm hoping to make an easter egg treasure hunt which will involve decorating eggs and then searching for them hidden around st anne's wells park...perhaps this will be more engrossing for him?

well hopefully see you tomorrow
if not let me know about the ride on
all the best

Hi Evangelia,
Thanks for your messages and your contribution of ideas and items. Sorry I have been a bit quiet but I have been feeling a bit under the weather.
See you soon.
