I've had this problem since the release of the new ui update in beta but just didn't get around to reporting it. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling both apps I still end up getting the license check error. I have both apps unmonitored in battery settings. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge on Android 8.0.

What happens if you tap the 'Smart Manager' button ?
Does it launch the 'Smart Manager' app ?
This app is a Samsung stock app that was present in Android 6.0 and should not be present after that,
so a bit surprised to see it there. It has battery saving settings as well and if you can start it, do this:

(in Smart Manager:)

- go to the 'Battery' section
- tap the 'Detail' button
- in the list, exclude the BubbleUPnP License app from any optimizations

The battery saver is what I meant. I already have the 2 apps in the "not optimized" list.

Can you post a screenshot of what is displayed when you tap that "Smart Manager" button ?

Can't seem to post a screenshot in a comment but there is a toast popup towards the bottom and it says "failed to launch Smart Manager. Start it manually from the app drawer(if installed)".

OK. I suppose that in the app drawer there is no "Smart manager" app ?

Other than that, double check that you did actions below.
Or do it again just after reinstalling the license app:

- go into your device settings, then in the 'Device Maintenance' section

- go to the 'Battery' section
- tap the 'Unmonitored apps' button
- add the 'BubbleUPnP License' app to the list, using the 'Add apps' button

If you still have the license unrecognized, please send me log files, logging for about 30s after app startup:

  • launch the app
  • go into Settings > Control (Settings is found in the top-left sliding menu)
  • check "Enable logging to file".
  • IMPORTANT: Exit the app: tap the "More" bottom-left icon, then the "X" bottom left icon
  • restart the app.
  • run the app until the problem appears
  • exit the app
  • connect your phone to your PC or MAC  and mail me the files: /Android/data/com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp/log.txt, /Android/data/com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp/prev_log.txt, /Android/data/com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp.unlocker/log.txt, /Android/data/com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp.unlocker/prev_log.txt f found on internal storage. Alternatively (or if the files are not listed on your PC, MTP being sometimes wonky), browse to this file with a file manager app and e-mail it from there. IMPORTANT: Make sure to not restart BubbleUPnP until you have sent or saved the log file as it is overwritten on app startup.

I didn't see where you mentioned the maintenance app before and tried excluding BubbleUPNP and the license app from there Thursday. I've tried to see if the problem would come back up since then but it hasn't so that had to be that problem. Thanks.
