I have added several radio stations to Bubble via ‘Add stream URL’ but there is one station that does not play to my renderer (Sonos One).  It plays to my local renderer Samsung S21 mobile running Android 14.  Other stations also did not play until I edited the settings for the renderer by ticking ‘Supports SHOUTcast’ and now they play okay.

The non playing station is Angel Radio based in the UK and there are two URL’s.

https://edge.clrmedia.co.uk/angel_hb

http://s2.xrad.io:8522/stream

The stream bitrate is 96k, Mp3

In the Sonos Desktop Controller for Sonos, when I try to play Angel Radio URL a message appears stating:  ‘Unable to play – the song is not encoded correctly’.

Any help would be appreciated.

RESOLVED.  Sonos One renderer/settings/FFmpeg audio decoding/ was set to ‘Audio formats not natively supported by renderer’.  Changed to ‘Never use’.  Angel Radio now plays.

Hi,

Glad you got it working.

Still, It would be great if you sent me (at bubblesof...@gmail.com) a log file of the failure to play using ‘Audio formats not natively supported by renderer’,
so I can understand why it did not work, as it is normally supposed to work:

- launch the app
- go into More > Settings > Control
- Enable "logging to file" (at the end of the page).
- IMPORTANT: Exit the app (More > Exit)
- restart the app
- play a station that does not play (changing settings to cause this)
- exit the app (More > Exit)
- email me the files found on internal storage:

On Android 10 and below:

/Android/data/com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp/log.txt
/Android/data/com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp/prev_log.txt (if present)

On Android 11 and higher:

/Downloads/com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp_log.txt
/Downloads/prev_com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp_log.txt (if present)

You can access them with a file manager app and share them to your email app for sending them.

IMPORTANT: Make sure to not restart BubbleUPnP until you have sent or saved the log file as it is overwritten on app startup.
