I just have just completed the cumbersome task of transforming all my playlists from Google Music back to .m3u because Youtube Music is just awful and it doesn't really get better over time.

What I really loved about Google Music was that, if I previously downloaded a playlist, I could play it offline. Just the same way I would play it without download.

I was hoping BubbleUPNP would work in a similar way.

I assume I would have to create a "saved playlist" from the .m3u.
But once downloaded I would have expected the "saved playlist" to play offline as well.

This does not seem to be the case. The music is there, but the playlist doesn't know about it.

Any chance, you could implement this (preferring local copy over library)?

I'm not even talking about syncing the playlists, which would be extra amazing 😁

I forgot to mention, that I am talking about uploaded music of which I also have a local copy on my dlna mediaserver.

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in BubbleUPnP.

I'm not too sure to understand your request,
especially since Google Music is no more (RIP).

Ok, I read my original post again, and it was kind of confusing 8)
I only mentioned Google Music, since it had a functionality I appreciated and I wished could be implemented in BubbleUPNP.

In BubbleUPnP currently, when I download a "Saved Playlist" from my DLNA-Library to my phone, all the files in the playlist are obviously download. But not so the playlist itself. I would have to assemble a second playlist targeting the files on my phone.

I would love a functionality similar to Google Music: when you play a "saved playlist" it would play the downloaded/cached local files, if present, and only switch to online streaming if the files could not be found locally.
The download of a playlist was more or less a  targeted "preheating" of the cache. This way you would only need one version of the playlist and still benefit from offline-files.

BubbleUPnP Server (https://bubblesoftapps.com/bubbleupnpserver2/) in conjunction with Android BubbleUPnP allows something similar.
That is, having Android BubbleUPnP cache music files to local storage when you play them the first time on your Android device (and play the cached version next time).
However you cannot download tracks in advance.
If you want details on how to set it up, let me know.
