Hi, I've been using BubbleUPnP for a number of years now, and it's undoubtedly one of the best media applications on Android, or any platform for that matter. Nearly all of my collection residing on my server is encoded in FLAC with a few exceptions in MP3 and OGG/Vorbis.  All of these files play perfectly fine in the app, however recently I added a couple of albums encoded in 48KHz AAC (.m4a extension), but the only way that they can be played is if I force the local renderer to use FFmpeg to decode all audio formats. This is obviously not optimal,  since only the m4a files need this. Is there some setting that I missed which could pipe the m4a through FFmpeg while all the other formats are supported natively?

Hi,

Normally, AAC tracks should play without using FFmpeg decoding.

Can you send me a log file, attempting to play such AAC that does not play locally:

- launch the app
- go into More > Gear icon > Control
- Enable "logging to file" (at the end of the page).
- IMPORTANT: Exit the app (More > "X" bottom left icon)
- restart the app
- attempt to play such AAC that does not play locally
- exit the app
- email me the files found on internal storage:

On Android 10 and below:

/Android/data/com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp/log.txt
/Android/data/com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp/prev_log.txt (if present)

On Android 11 and higher:

/Documents/com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp_log.txt
/Documents/prev_com.bubblesoft.android.bubbleupnp_log.txt (if present)

You can access them with a file manager app and share them to your email app for sending them.

IMPORTANT: Make sure to not restart BubbleUPnP until you have sent or saved the log file as it is overwritten on app startup.

Can also send me a problematic AAC file to bubblesof...@gmail.com ?

Thanks !

Same problem with BubbleUpnp m4a playback through my Naim UnitiLite and Tidal stream of The track J ai fait un promesse by Anathema,
album Serenades. It does not play any m4a except if ffmpeg option îs activated for all tracks.
Except m4a other formats works well even flac at 192khz 24 bits on BubbleUpnp but Naim app is seeing them as 16 bits 44khz flac. Also the above m4a track works well în Naim app.
