I reported the problem by email (Subject: BubblesoftUPnP can no longer find Minimserver library reliably) and received a boilerplate reply. Since then, tests have isolated and proved that BubbleUPnP has a bug when running on a Samsung Tab S6Lite that prevents it from finding Minimserver.

The initial setup:
    BubbleUPnP (4.4.9 arm64-vBa)
Samsung Tab S6Lite, tablet software is up to date, Android version 13
Minimserver and music library folders on a Windows 10 PC, Ethernet connection to router
Deco AX3600 W7000 mesh router and one satellite
    HEOS Link renderer

BubbleUPnP worked reliably for many months. Then it could not find Minimserver but would usually find it after a few minutes. Then it became unable to find Minimserver almost all the time.

Thanks to rapid, focused replies from Simon of Minimserver, tests have proved the problem is in BubbleUPnP:

1. I bought a Netgear Orbi RBR850 router and installed it in place of the Deco router and satellite. The problem continued without change. Unlike the Deco, the Orbi router's webpage tells me the state of UPnP; I ensured it is allowed.

2. I tested only my PC and the S6Lite tablet on a guest network. There was no change in the problem.

3. I tested BubbleUPnP (4.4.9 arm-v8a) on a Xiaomi Redmi 3 smartphone. It accessed Minimserver with no problem.

4. I tested BubbleUPnP (3.8.0.2 armeabi-v7a) on an old Samsung Tab A6 tablet (Android 5.1.1)  It accessed Minimserver with no problem.

5. The S6Lite tablet Settings | Developer Options | Running Services listed:
    BubbleUPnP
    Android system
    Software update
    Bluetooth
    Nearby device scanning
    Edge panels
    MobileWips
    Samsung Keyboard
    One UI Home

I did not try to do anything with these services.

6. I installed mConnectLite on the S6Lite tablet. It accesses Minimserver with no problem!

Don't these tests prove that BubbleUPnP has a crippling bug?

At the least, if another app interferes with UPnP, port 1900, or whatever, then BubbleUPnP should detect and report the problem rather than being silent.

Problem overcome. The BubbleSoft person kindly solicited and reviewed log files. They showed the program was connecting with the Minimserver library. The problem was that, despite being a long-time user, I got confused about the user interface.

For those who may be interested in the UI problem and how to find DLNA libraries in BubbleUPnP, here is what I recall happening.

* In the evening I routinely put the Windows PC on which Minimserver runs to sleep. The next morning I pick up the Samsung tablet. I tried to connect to the Minimserver library with BubbleUPnP. Of course, the library was not to be found. I'd realize this and wake up the PC.

* But I could not find the Minimserver library in BubbleUPnP (and wound up through all the above tests wrongly concluding that BubbleUPnP was not connecting to it). As I recall, I was in a situation where tapping the folder icon at the bottom right did not list the Minimserver library.

* The key: at this point the top of the BubbleUPnP screen has a row labeled Audio Inputs. (See screen captures below.) The row has several icons. There are four on the right, none of which help find libraries. Between the Audio Inputs label and these four icons, more or less in the middle of the row, there is a down-carat. The symbol is smaller than the four to the right. I believe my problem was that I completely overlooked it.

* If you tap down-carat, the first item on the dropdown menu is: Select library... You must tap on it and a then a popup menu will offer all the libraries BubbleUPnP has currently connections to. That's it.

Thanks for the write up and screenshot.

In the screenshot, the floating Play button in the lower right corner should have been a different icon that does the same thing than choosing 'Select renderer' in the top
drop-down menu. The wrong icon is displayed because the root folder has playable items (which is a rare corner case).
I will fix that in the next update.
