Hi,

Is it possible to play audio only from a video stream ( a youtube link ) by the local renderer ?
Currently it seems it needs an external video player to handle the stream.

Thank you

Hi,

It is not currently possible with the local renderer.
It is what happens if you play to an external renderer that is audio only.
I understand your request but adding this functionality to the local renderer is problematic on a user interface level,
so not super keen on it.
You can configure VLC to play videos in the background (has to be congigured in its settings) so you can use that as a workaround.

Hi,

Thank you for your quick response.
I've been using this feature with an external renderer ( either upnp / chromecast ) and have been enjoing it a lot, actually one of the main reasons for me to use bubbleupnp.
For some reason I thought it used to be possible also with the local renderer.
I used the VLC to play the video in the backgroud as a workaround but it only works partially as for instance seeking through the video especially a longer one doesn't quite work.
Also the bublbleupnp interface is much nicer to work with ;) .
Anyway, I understand that this could be problematic to implement and won't be looked into.
In case that changes one day, I think it would be wonderful. The feature which allows to share url from another app ( like youtube or bandcamp ) to bubleupnp and play it there is really great.
Many thanks
