I’d really like to request different icons for the Google Play and Amazon versions of the app.

My first purchase was through Amazon, but I later realized it requires the Amazon Store to be installed and doesn’t update automatically. Since I’m a bit of a lazy person, I ended up buying it again on Google Play. Now I keep both installed on my phone with different settings, usually using one for music and the other for videos and movies.

The problem is that the icons look exactly the same, and I often open the wrong one by mistake. It would be great to have a small visual difference between them, maybe a subtle color variation, a small detail, or even a thin outline around the circle. Just something simple to tell them apart.

It’s been four years already, and at this point it has become one of those tiny stressors in daily life, something small that shouldn’t matter, but that adds up over time. I’d really love to finally smooth it out :-)

Pretty much any custom launcher will let you set an icon.

And then even on stock depending on the OEM you can do it as well, like Samsung Theme Park.

I just found out that the BubbleUPnP app I bought through Amazon has lost its license, and I can no longer update or activate it because the Amazon Appstore was discontinued on Android. It can now only be activated on Fire TV and Fire Tablet. In other words, I’m left with a license that’s basically useless.

Hi,

Yes, this is the unfortunate consequence of Amazon closing their appstore for Android devices, which is something I was not happy either when I learned about it.
So as you mentioned the Amazon version of BubbleUPnP only works on Fire Tablet devices.

To get back to your original post about using 2 instance of the app for different purposes, there are some apps that allow to run
multiples instance of other apps but I did not try them.
