72-78 BPM is typical for an adult male. Anxiety (including about whether
your HR is normal) can also affect your HR (usually upward).

The heart is in contact with the chest wall (at least in the places where
the lungs are not. You should be able to feel your heart beating most
strongly below and to the left of your left nipple, right in line
with your armpit - this is called the apical pulse. It's quite normal.

Well, these are all good things. Most people will experience changes in
fitness 2-3 months after beginning an exercise program.

If you're still concerned or have more specific questions about your health
your primary care physician is a good place to address them to.
