I don't know if this applies and I'm also very new to this but here's my 2
cents...
The guy I just bought my '74 Rally 200 from installed 2 little metal pins
each resting on a spring inside of each cowl. His idea was if the cowl was
not locked correctly (or on for that matter) the engine would not start, for
the pin created an electrical link (ground?) to the engine by running a wire
from the pin to the engine... How he did this I couldn't even begin to tell
you. Whew, I hope that makes some sense, obviously I've got a lot to learn
still.... (shrug) ... I can try to give you more details just let me know.
