Just a reminder and a heads-up:

1. Although the NSF-wide policy for RUI proposals (http://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=5518) is that they are due "any time," many of the Directorates prefer to receive their RUI proposals during their normal, published proposal windows.

For example, CMMI has two windows to receive unsolicited proposals, JAN 15 - FEB 15 and SEPT 1 - OCT 1. CMMI also prefers to receive their RUI proposals during the same windows.  (http://www.nsf.gov/div/index.jsp?org=CMMI, about half-way down)

2. Anyone considering submitting an RUI this year should get in touch with their respective NSF Directorate, or me, so we can determine when the appropriate deadline is.

3. The sponsor deadline is not the same thing as the Bradley deadline.  All proposals must be in to OSP with a completed (signed by all parties) transmittal form five days prior to the sponsor due date.

4. This came directly from an NSF PO yesterday: don't wait until the last day of a deadline to submit your proposal.  It is recommended you submit well in advance of the deadline.  The PO I spoke with (George Hazelrigg) said a week before the deadline is best.

Thanks, and good luck!
