Hi ,

i am running btstack on linux (ubuntu 24.04), i have tried it via realtek bt dongle and the Intel Corp. AX211 Bluetooth that is part of my pc, i have followed the docs and the example ./gatt_counter gives me the following output on both controllers:
btstack/port/libusb$ ./gatt_counter
Packet Log: /tmp/hci_dump.pklg
BTstack counter 0001
USB device 0x0bda/0xa728, path: 0:3
Realtek Controller - requires firmware and config download
libusb: error [udev_hotplug_event] ignoring udev action change

- HCI Revision   0x000b
- LMP Version    0x000a
- LMP Subversion 0x8761
- Manufacturer   0x005d
TLV path: /tmp/btstack_8C-68-8B-00-EE-C5.tlv
BTstack up and running on 8C:68:8B:00:EE:C5.

the issue is that i cant connect to the btstack via apps like LightBlue, even after multiple attempts, reboots, controller switches i cant create a connection with it.

Any ideas what might be my issue are highly appreciated :))

Best Regards

Hi Timo

Both your Intel AX211 as well as the Realtek require additional firmware.

Please share the /tmp/hci_dump.pklg for the Realtek Controller to see if the firmware was loaded.

Alternatively, please try port/linux which would use the native HCI interface of the Linux driver and which should work for all Controllers that are supported by your distribution.
(Also, please check and post /tmp/hci_dump.pkgl in case of problems).

Best regards
Matthias
