Subject: Scotch broom questions
Hi Heath,
A couple of things:
-Any chance you have any teens needing a project or know of a volunteer that hates scotch broom? I did some pulling along Bellfountain today and popped in to do some recon where Crystal brought the TWS last year and there are over 100 more plants needing pulled in there. I can do it myself but would be more fun with help! Would need to do it in the next week or two before it goes to seed.
-I'd love to borrow one of your smaller hand held weed wrenches. We never did figure out a way to purchase any with the company not wanting to sell to the feds or use a credit card, someday!
-Also, who do I talk with about weeds in the right of way? I'm still on a mission to get rid of the broom on the strip across from the prairie on Bellfountain and there aren't that many but they're big, they could easily be cut/pulled in a day, maybe even sprayed? With all the effort we're putting into restoring that area and IAE trying to expand the golden paintbrush numbers in there, it seems worthy to put a little effort into removing the seed source across the road. Maybe it's the power company or the timber company I need to talk to?
-Any luck with a grant to spray out the spurge laurel on Bruce Rd?
Thanks for your time!
Molly~
