Subject: Wade Hardware and Tarweed Folk School Welcomes All to an Open House on July 12th

Celebrate the re-opening of the 167 year old hardware store in downtown Corvallis, and get to know Tarweed Folk School with live demonstrations in woodworking, fiber arts, and more!

Join us Saturday, July 12th from 12-6pm to celebrate the re-opening of our town’s oldest commercial building at 400 SW 2nd Street, formerly Robnett’s Hardware. Wade Hardware, renamed after one of the original owners and operated by the same family, will be open for business with a great new selection of tools, fasteners, locally milled wood, workwear, household supplies, and more. The store will be open to the public and the Open House will be in collaboration with Tarweed Folk School, who has a new home and classroom in the same space.

Tarweed will provide live demonstrations in woodworking and fiber arts, free food donated by First Alternative Co-op, shirts and hats for sale, and information about our summer classes:

7/6 & 9: Woodcarving Basics: Carrots!
7/11-13: Build a 3-Legged Stool
7/13: Wooden Mallets: Make a Shop Tool
7/15 & 19: Bowls on the Spring Pole Lathe
7/16: Herbal Allies for Stress and Anxiety
7/19: Cultivating Plants to Help Relieve Stress and Anxiety
7/19-20: Willow Basket Weaving: The Irish Creel

All summer classes, taught by local educators and craftspeople, are now open for registration at tarweedfolkschool.com with scholarships available to all. More events are coming soon and more classes to be released for Fall 2025!

Tarweed Folk School stewards opportunities for community-based, hands-on learning to all ages. The mission of Tarweed Folk School is to tend to the land, ourselves, and each other through the sharing of practical arts and place-based knowledge in the heart of the Willamette Valley. This Summer Session of classes is in partnership with Wade Hardware, the Corvallis Waldorf School, Highland Woodshop, and Cascade Pacific Resource Conservation & Development.

We hope to see you there!
