Let's Pull Together!

Spring rains are giving way to days filled with sunrays so guess what? You're invited to join Benton SWCD and our partners in Let's Pull Together! We're collaborating with Corvallis Parks & Recreation, Marys River Watershed Council, Albany Parks & Recreation, and the City of Philomath to keep invasive plant species wishing they had never come to Oregon!

When: Saturday, May 21st
What: Pulling invasive species from Benton County's natural areas
How: Register here; select your location; provide your contact information; and keep an eye out for an email with specific project details on/about May 19th

Register today for one of these three locations to give Oregon's native plants a chance:

Witham Hill Natural Area; 9am - Noon
Near intersection of NW Circle Blvd and NW Witham Hill Drive
Join us at Witham Hill Natural area on NW Circle Blvd in Corvallis where we’ll work on removing invasive English hawthorn.  This will involve using a weed wrench as well as cutting hawthorn with loppers and hand saws. We hope to see you there.
Hosted by Corvallis Parks and Recreation and Marys River Watershed Council

Takena Landing Park; 10am - Noon
656 Albany Corvallis Higway, Albany 97321
Cutting and pulling ivy will be the name of the game at Takena Landing Park.  This floodplain forest is valuable habitat right along the Willamette River.  Come help protect the giant cottonwood trees!
Hosted by Albany Parks and Recreation

Marys River Park; 10am - Noon
300 S. 11th Street, Philomath, OR 97370
Marys River Park offers great streamside habitat right in Philomath.  Grab a pair of loppers (provided) and help us cut blackberry along the forest edge and cut ivy off the trees in the floodplain
Hosted by Benton Soil and Water Conservation District and City of Philomath
