Good afternoon to all members of Sustainable Corvallis,
My name is Hillary Barbour and I am the Community Relations Director for the Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative. On behalf of OBRC, we invite you to join us when our 2025 Community Cleanup & Recycling series comes to Corvallis next week! We created this series of litter pickups and recycling events with our longtime partner SOLVE to help make the areas we serve a little cleaner and greener.
Our Corvallis Community Cleanup will take place on Thursday, October 23 from 10 am-12 pm. Volunteers will meet in the parking lot of OBRC's Corvallis Redemption Center (1111-B NW 9th St, Corvallis, OR 97330) to check in and receive tools plus a safety briefing.
To register for the cleanup, click here!
The event is free and open to all. If you have any suggestions of individuals or community organizations we should invite, please let me know and I will gladly follow up. I will also circle back with this group post event to share the results.
To date, our Community Cleanup & Recycling series has seen 160 volunteers collect more than 2000 pounds of litter across the state. Only 42 beverage containers have been found (and were donated to SOLVE's BottleDrop Give account), demonstrating the success of Oregon's Bottle Bill in reducing litter and helping our communities stay green.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need help getting signed up. My number is below, and this email works well. We hope to see you at the cleanup on October 23!
Thank you,
Hillary
