Subject: Seeking Volunteers for Salmon Watch!

 

Greetings all,

 

Benton Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking volunteers to help lead SALMON WATCH, our annual environmental education program for local 5th-8th graders. Field trips take place in October and November out in Clemens Park, Alsea, where we're very lucky to still be able to witness salmon spawning in the river.

 

Volunteers lead interactive field stations to help students learn about rivers, forests, fish, ecology, native plants, and how to keep our watersheds healthy. The program is fully volunteer-led, except for the Program Coordinator (me) - we can't do it without our amazing volunteers, and we can always use more!

 

I'm leading a new volunteer info session on September 16th at Clemens Park. There is no obligation, and no minimum time commitments if you do decide to become a volunteer. Volunteer just once or 10 times, it's up to you!
