Subject: Willamette Vole Summit - August 29, 2025
On August 29, 2025, the Oregon Grass Seed Commissions in partnership with the Willamette Vole Management group, USGS Oregon Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, and Oregon State University Extension are hosting a Vole Summit Meeting in Salem at the West Salem Roth’s Conference Center from 8:30 – 12pm, with registration beginning at 8:00am.
The purpose of this meeting is to bring together and engage all parties in Oregon that are being impacted by and/or involved in managing voles including growers and producers, industry stakeholders, state regulators, as well as academics and federal researchers. The key objectives of the meeting are to review what research has been and is being done to inform vole management solutions, and to co-develop research priorities that meet the needs of the people of Oregon. We invite you to share and discuss thoughts, ideas, and challenges on what additional efforts should and can be made to improve our industry’s situation with voles. It is critical that we have participation from growers, industry professionals, commodity groups, registrants, scientists, regulatory agencies, and state leaders. Please make plans to attend, have your voice heard, and be a part of developing solutions to this significant issue affecting agriculture production and livelihoods in Oregon.
