Title: Losing Ground: Soil Erosion in Midwestern Farmlands

Bio: Evan Thaler is a Research Associate in the College of Forestry who studies how disturbances affect the rates at which landscapes change. He is particularly interested in soil erosion and has worked in agricultural areas in the Midwestern U.S., permafrost terrains in northern Alaska, the uplifted plateaus of the Ozark Highlands, and now in the forests of Western Oregon.
