Dear members and friends,

(Apologies: Discussion meeting time starting at 12 noon on this coming Sunday )

Now that we have specific Target Dates with this historical Forest Monastery (FM) project, you are invited to a FM Fundraising “brainstorming” discussion to be held on this Sunday, 2nd March at the BSV Library, starting at 12:00 pm.
Come, help us by sharing your ideas in this meeting. No ideas will be considered small.
See you on Sunday.

Kind regards and with metta
Adrian Tee

Dear Adrian, i'm unlikely to be able to attend this "brainstorming" discussion but here are some raw ideas for consideration, please.  May the collective force of good, kindness and generosity contribute to the ultimate fruition of this forest monastery project soon _/|\_

1. Auction of items donated by supporters/ Buddhist ornaments blessed/ autographed by the monastics?

2. Mindful walking meditation in a park/ forest (registration with purchase of tickets that comes with some freebies)

3. Promote Awareness of this Forest Monastery Project at other large-scale Buddhist events

4. Showcase an interim artistic impression of the forest monastery architecture (if there are any architects amongst BSV supporters/ through connections?) and invite potential sponsors (individual/ corporate) to sponsor different building structures, e.g. meditation rooms, kitchen (with/ without acknowledgement at donors' preference)

5. Sale of T-shirts/ Jackets printed with Buddhist quotes/ designed by BSV supporters (any designer out there?)

6. Vegetarian food carnival/ fund-raising dinner with proceeds donated to the project

7. Dharma conference with proceeds donated to the project

Final note:  There should be a balance in the fund-raising/ donation efforts without coming across as a commercial activity.  Donors should feel resonated/ committed to the worthwhile cause to support the Sangha/ aspiring laypersons.  Where possible, more details in the description/ vision of the project should be presented, as most people are visually-oriented; and how the funds raised will be used so that they know where their donations will go to. Social media such as Facebook and BSV website should be leveraged for rapid and mass penetration.

Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu to you all _/|\_

Hi there

I am not actually a member of the BSV (location and family commitments limit me at this stage in my life) but I live in Geelong and note that it's only around an hour and 10 minutes from where the new monastery is located.

Please bear in mind that I can help out with anything from putting posters up, handing out flyers or anything to promote this in Geelong. Happy to help where I can!

Luke
