Subject: daily tigons Ayila Garshagu: a top English+Math Prim. 2b
pupil at BSU Staff Sch.

Attempts for early exposure to literacy and numeracy for Ms. Ayila
Terhemba Garshagu were frustrated at the beginning.
Born May 5, 2006 to Garshagu MV Atovigba and Jessica Atovigba, Ayila
was taken to Peniel Prim Sch in 2009 and Trust Academy 2010 but could
not achieve literacy. At best she could recite the English and Tiv
alphabets and number from 1 to 100.
Ayila's brothers Kwaghterna and Aondohemba were also in Ayila's shoe.
A worried Garshagu finally took them to BSU Staff School in 2011 and
the story changed for the Garshagus. They have all achieved literacy.
Ayila's records showed by 2014 that she led her class in several
reading sessions.
At the last exam in March 2014 Ayila made 73 in English and 83 in mathematics.
Commendation should go to the BSU Staff School and particularly the
teachers there. They have proved their worth and shown to have what it
takes to be teachers at the foundation rung of education.
