Professor Daniel Saror has resigned as chairman / member of the BSU
visitation panel .

Saror cited a media report in The Nation of June 5, 2015 , page 8 as
sfor his immediate resignation .

His resignation letter was addressed to Governor Samuel Ortom and
obtained exclusively by the The Nation .

In the report Gov Samuel Ortom while addressing members of the
Governing Council of BSU announced the cancellation of the report of
the visitation panel! which he Saror is the chairman, of which Saror
is not aware of the existence of such a report.
Saror said he has intefrity which he built for years as an academic
which should not be rubbished with such a public statement as he knows
that sucvh a report could not be made in one week.

The former Vice chancellor said he found the statement credited to the
panel as not only embarrassing but also unfortunate as such a report
did not exist .

Saror a former senator for Benue North East senatorial district for
two terms stated that Benue State government had constituted a
visitation panel for Benue State University ( BSU) on12th may, 2015
and the panel was inaugurated on 18th May, 2015.

The panel paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner for Education and
the Vice Chancellor of the university on 25th May, 2015 and resolved
to reconvene on 17th June,2015 , in the hope by that time details of
the venue to serve as secretariat would be sorted out with the new
administration .

He said at the time of the report the panel had not sat and wondered
how a report could be produced in such circumstances which the
governor acted upon, saying his integrity has been called to question
with Governor Ortom's utterance and he has no choice than to resign as
chairman and member of the visitation panel to Benue State University(
BSU).
