Moi,
Greetings from Sewa Day team, Finland!
Sewa is a universal concept, which involves performing an act of kindness without expectation of reward. It is performed selflessly and without ulterior motive. On Sewa Day, thousands of good-hearted people across the world come together to perform Sewa and experience the joy of giving in its truest sense. By participating in this collective endeavor, we hope that the seeds of Sewa are watered so that acts of kindness and public service are performed more often. Sewa Day is a catalyst in making this happen. On our website, you can find detailed information : http://www.sewaday.org/

Last year, in Finland, more than 13 organizations and 382 volunteers observed Sewa Day participating in 11 projects. Here is a brief report on what happened, last year in Sewa Day:

Media Coverage:
Sewa Day received a good print media coverage. Please find the attached photos from Aamhulehti news and Hervanen Sanomat:

We understand that one day won’t change the world. However, we hoped that Sewa Day would encourage a) more people to consider volunteering as part of their regular routine b) more people and countries to take part in Sewa Day and c) bring people from different walks of life, cultures and communities closer together.

This year, we will be observing Sewa Day in first week of October i.e. 1-7 October 2012. We sincerely request you participate in this noble cause with your organization and help us in identifying a project, which may benefit to your organization.

Thanks for your time and support!

Regards,
Sewa Day Finland Team
