Dear Daniel,

I am not really the right person to discuss with on the matter of facilitators...the individual scientists and/or technicians would be best placed. However, if you have a tentative programme or overview of the training you wish to have, I can link you with the concerned personnel at icipe.

Just let me know details whenever you are ready, and be sure to give enough notice in terms of time, because of the busy schedules here.

Regards,

Lilian

Hallo Lilian,

I appreciate and thank you much on that piece of information, am helped a lot.

Besides that, as I already stated earlier, about the possibility of your institution participating in a training seminar organized by Bio sciences Society of Kenyatta University. We would appreciate your involvement in terms of facilitator(s) that would train us on standard operation procedures of research as is relevant to what icipe does.

Maybe we could have a meeting and discuss more about this over coffee. Thanks

All the best.

Ouso

Hallo Daniel,

Attached, please find an overview of the short-term internship. The process is rather straight forward. We require interested persons to send us application documents at least 4-6 weeks in advance of the intended attachment period. The application should be sent to the Head, CB&ID Programme. The documents include:
  • cover letter, stating area of training/interest and duration of attachment
  • copies of transcripts of subjects covered so far
  • support letter from HoD OR supervising lecturer at the university
  • brief cv of applicant
Once received, our office will forward the applications to the most relevant department, and wait advicement from that head scientist, on possibilites of placement...and upon a decision by the departmental head, we will advice the applicant accordingly. As you can understand, we are only able to take 2-3 interns per department...and selection is from a number of tertiary institutions...so its really based on merit, and the work going on in the departmet at the time of consideration.

Best wishes,

Lilian

Hi Lilian,

I am Ouso Daniel, a third year student at Kenyatta University, and I got your mail from icipe site after a friend's suggestion that you could be of help.

I am a member of Biosciences Society of Kenyatta University. Our society intend to carry out a  training for its members upon which we believe your institution could be of great roll. Being the one assigned to make a marketing call to icipe, I thus  request for an appointment, perhaps in your office or elsewhere to your preference, with you to discuss this further.

On the sides, I ask that you please email me the attachment application requirements of your institution and conditions applicable.

Look forward to your reply, thank you.

Ouso Daniel
