Kenyatta University.
Hello Mr. Kingori,
On recommendation from Julius Nyangaga,I called your office earlier
today and was informed that you were not available. I however managed
to obtain your email address and has subsequently chosen to send you
this email.
My name is Erick Ochieng Ojwang, a student at Kenyatta University
pursuing a bachelor of science degree in Biotechnology. As the
secretary general of the student and faculty run Bio sciences Society
of Kenyatta University (BSS KU) I had cultivated a working
relationship with Mr. Julius Nyangaga formerly of the capacity
building unit at ILRI.Julius recently informed me that he no longer
works with ILRI and gladly suggested that I reach out to you and let
you know of the exciting opportunity that our society provides for
ILRI to add value to the Bio sciences students community in Kenyatta
University in line with your capacity building objective.
BSS KU as a society is committed to providing a platform for building
the scientific capacities and competence of its members as part of its
objectives. We have therefore purposed to host a training workshop
that would provide an opportunity for our members to acquire useful
transferable skills that are employed in contemporary research. Part
of our key areas of interest include the examination of the standard
operating procedures (SOPs) that are employed in DNA/RNA extraction
and characterization as well as the science of genetic engineering. We
believe that ILRI/BeCa hub is in a position to provide suitable
facilitators who would ably take us through these two areas.
It is my hope that you will find time to meet us before the end of
this week to enable us to discuss the modalities that would ensure
ILRI's participation in the workshop as stated above. I am looking
forward to hearing from you as soon as possible so that we can set the
date and time for the proposed meeting. All the efforts employed
towards the realization of the above are highly appreciated.
Yours Sincerely,
Erick Ochieng',
Secretary General,
Bio Sciences Society of Kenyatta University.
