Story assignments and author meetings

Hi everyone,

It was nice to see you all at the pitch meeting! By now you should have received your email(s) putting you in contact with your respective authors. The assignments for all the pieces are in this google sheet. I've also added everyone to the Google Calendar containing the editing deadlines for the semester. Let me know if you're having trouble accessing it.

Please reach out to your authors to schedule an initial meeting to talk about their piece, passing on comments from the pitches meeting if necessary. You should also emphasise that they should conduct interviews as soon as possible, or arrange alternative interviews if they can't get hold of their initial subject. Feature writers will need to conduct multiple interviews with different subjects.

If you don't hear back from your author within the next few days, please let me know sooner rather than later! We will be scheduling our first drafts roundtable the week of August 4th, and I'll send out a when2meet closer to that time.
