Hi everyone,
Thanks for bearing the cold with me for a thoughtful pitch meeting on Monday! I'm really excited about the articles for this issue, especially for the big 5-0.
The story assignments have been finalized, and I just sent out emails connecting first editors to authors. Please schedule a quick meeting with your author(s) in the coming week to get acquainted and chat about the direction of the piece. If applicable, please share any insights from the pitch meeting.
After looking at the layout plan and costs there ended up being space to give a couple of the shorter pieces more words, so you'll see these changes in the story assignment sheet. This hopefully won't change things too much (if anything, authors got a length closer to what they pitched), but please let me know if you have any thoughts, questions, or concerns!
Editing deadlines for the semester are in the Google Calendar, but I'll drop the timeline here as well. Reminder that features and mini-features should have outlines in by next Wednesday.
