Hi everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to join this group. I have set it up
because when I was in BSO mixed mode and thinking about having my
first child (who is now 2 1/2), some of the best advice and support I
received was from people in similar situations in the years above.
However, it was not always easy to find good people to talk to.

Anyway its your group so I hope it will be of some use. There is no
specific agenda, but here are a few ideas of what you might want to
use the forum for:

Childcare:
- recommendations for nursery, nannies
- helping out with cover for one another (for people that live close
to one another) eg. school/ nursery pick ups/ drop-offs
- babysitting for one another

Mentoring & support
- Connect people in lower years (especially mixed mode) with final
years to give advice and information about managing workload and
timetables
- For people thinking about having children during the course, there
are a few of us who have done it and survived (just about!)
- Support for mixed-moders with children who are moving to London for
the last 2 years of their course

Funding
- childcare grants for fulltime students, benefits etc.
