Dear BSNA Family,
I am writing today about the controversy surrounding the BSNA presidential elections and to inform you of the process we have initiated to resolve this issue.
I am sorry that you are receiving a barrage of e-mails related to the 2015 BSNA President nomination and election process. A controversy erupted immediately after the announcement of the results. A number of members complained and reached out to the Board of Trustees to resolve it in an amicable manner. Subsequently, a full board meeting (teleconference) was held on September 22, 2015. During the meeting, it was decided by majority vote to form a 3-member fact-finding subcommittee to look into these grievances. It was agreed that we should use this constitutionally granted remedy to address this issue.
Consistent with BSNA Constitution Article X, Section 2.vi and Article X, Section 2.vii, the BOT shall perform the role of mediator in case of conflicts within EC, and/or any unit of the Association that cannot be resolved by EC, or on matters not explicitly addressed in the constitution.
The BSNA President, Dr. Shri Kant Mishra was informed on September 23, 2015 about this decision. A copy of the communication is attached for your reference, and the meeting minutes will follow shortly.
I urge you all to have patience and respect the process provided in the BSNA Constitution to resolve this dispute. The independent fact-finding committee will finish their task and communicate their results. Our goal is to protect the sanctity of the Institution and your rights as members of the BSNA.
Regards,
Om Sharma
Chairman
BSNA Board of Trustees
