Hi everyone,

While I have been PAT Testing everything that moves and can be connected to the mains at the makerspace I paired each device or power tool with its own cable as the rules for the tests require the cables to be tested separately whenever they can be unplugged.

This has two consequences:
1/ Please try not to separate anything from its cable the number on the device and cable should match. Eg the device number 29 should go with the cable marked 29a. In most cases there is no electrical reason for that but occasionally there is a device which needs a 10A cable and many of them will only safely handle 5A.

2/ I have now run out of IEC cables and there is still some equipment without an IEC lead waiting to be tested. If you have a box of old IEC style cables sitting at home please bring a couple in to be used in the makerspace.

Thanks in advance
Kevin
