Plastic Wheelchair Cog in need of replacement

Morning everyone :) 

I have a plastic cog here from my mums wheelchair. 

I'm not sure if you can see from these photos but a part of it is flattened. 

Do we have any kit in the space or any clever people who can recreate this please?

Hi Kelsey,

It’s possible that someone in the Makerspace could help you, but I’ve some doubts about the availability of the right material. There is a charity called Remap (Google “Remap Charity” ) who specialise in this sort of thing, they would be my first stop for a problem like this. But watch your email, a Makerspace member might fancy the challenge :).

Hey Mike,

Thanks for replying :) 

I can buy the plastic/materials for the project. The only replacement I can find online is the whole gearbox at £750 which is not something we want to do. But Money for materials isn't really a problem. 

Perhaps I could bring it along to the open evening tomorrow. Do you know when they next Rapair Workshop is?

I don't think we currently have a repair cafe scheduled. You'd be welcome to come along any Tuesday night of course.

Out of interest, what material is the gear wheel made from?  

I would urge you to talk to Basingstoke Remap - https://basingstoke.remap.org.uk/ , they would have much more experience of this kind of thing.
