Update on BSDG

Hi all,

It has been a while, hope you are all doing well.

I was meaning to get the group started again this summer, and if you probably noticed that did not happen.

So what happened? I got Covid back in May and let’s say it did a number on me; I am now dealing with a neurological form of Long Covid. 

This means that at this point I’m physically disabled, I can’t walk more than 50 ft at a time, I sleep a lot, sometimes I get seizures, and I am dealing with headaches all the time.  I couldn’t make the meetings even if someone else was doing the work. And reality is this won’t change for me anytime soon.

So, if anyone wants to take this over for real, I’d love to hand it off. Otherwise we can let BSDG fade off into the sunset.

So, so sorry to hear about all that Chris.

Much as I'd love to pick up the flag, I'm already over-committed. Makes me sad, but I'm happy for the times we did have, and can still gather informally and sporadically.

Holy mackerel!  That sucks!

I have a similar issue.  I am on oxygen 24/7 and unable to walk any distance.  I hope you were able get some disability

Thank you for sharing with us and I wish you the best in your recovery. It seems you have a tough road ahead. Please let me know if and how I can be of help to you. Thank you for being the heart of BSDG for so many years.

Regarding BSDG: this has always been an informal group of sorts and has adapted over the years. As someone who was somewhat involved in its founding days, I'd like to see it continue in some form and am willing to work with anyone who also wants to see it continue.

Hi Darrel, 

I’m still working full time, but I’ve adjusted my schedule to 6 shorter days instead of 5 full days. So I haven’t needed any disability assistance yet.

Wow Chris.  We'll be praying for you and your family.  And although I'm no longer in Bosie, I had some amazing times at BSDG, getting drinks at the Ram afterwards, and all the other good times.
