For all of you PC/Woodworkers out there....

This is new on CNet: pictures of a $55,000 pc that comes complete with
a desk and completely disappears. I guess the target is women who
hate looking at technology.

If you think it is a joke (the part about women who hate looking at
technology), think of this. I have a full surround sound speaker
system in my den. My wife wanted it :) But she is also adamant that
you cannot see the speakers in the room (especially the wall mounted
ones in the back). So she bought wood stands and covered them with
fake plants.

I think this desk is going to be my next project.

Pretty funny, Chris
Of course, I think the trick is to have your PC (s) in a room your wife
wouldn't want to go into. Then you can do really ugly stuff and get away
with it.

You will find that the mechanism to raise and lower the screen etc. will
cost a lot of money. I have metal working machinery to make such items so
if you are interested to try your hand at metal working (actually more fun
than woodworking in some ways) let me know and we can try it. It will need a
small electric motor and a worm drive to raise and lower the platform.
