Dear students

My heart has gone out to all of you hearing about the terrible events on Easter Sunday.  

I was travelling out of the UK when the news broke and for nearly a week could just get phone updates until I came home at the w/e and could see more fuller BBC reports. It is so shocking and unexpected I can still hardly believe what has happened in your beautiful country in which I have had the good fortune to live and work.

I have spent the week checking on many of the people I know in SL.  I have not heard anything concerning you or your families and friends and hope that you have all escaped harm.  However many innocent people have been killed and the shock of that in the country must be huge.  It has been good to see reporting on the ways in which people are helping each other through this regardless of religion.

Whilst there is nothing I can do to help, I am thinking of all of you and hoping that you are getting through these difficult days as best you can.
