Full-time Postgraduate Research Opportunities in Sinhala & Tamil Language
Processing
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Moratuwa
invites applications from interested and capable applicants for full-time
postgraduate (MSc, MPhil, PhD) research positions in the area of Natural
Language Processing (NLP), specifically to work in translation between
Sinhala and Tamil languages. We have secured government research grants for
this research. Selected candidates will follow a postgraduate degree
program from 1 to 4 years.
Requirements:
-
At least a Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a first class, in
Computer Science, linguistics or related field (or close to degree
completion)
-
Interest in and demonstrated or potential skills for research
-
Ability to work independently, multi-tasking, communicate effectively,
meet deadlines, and focus

Willingness to work hard, be responsible and learn

Prior research experience in natural language processing and/or machine
learning would be an added advantage

Fluency in Tamil and Sinhala languages would be an added advantage
