Frontier Program Option for New Scouts at Summer Camp

Good morning,

    Attached is a description of the Frontier Program which was
discussed at the troop meeting on Thursday.  Our new Scout patrol is
asked to make a decision this Thursday whether to do the Frontier
Program as a patrol or do merit badges during the same time period.

The advantage of the Frontier Program is exposure to many new Scout
skills. Frontier Program participants are limited to one merit badge in
the morning.  The disadvantage is that the exposure to many skills in s
short time does not necessarily mean that all Scouts will learn these
skills.

Scouts not in the Frontier Program will working on merit badges during
the three morning periods.  We encourage our new Scouts to take
Swimming, Wilderness Survival, and a third merit badge of their own choice.
